A Tribute  Dr.Dayananda Pai Dr.Pai was born on 18th may 1938 and obtained M.A in Sociology from University of Mysore and M.Lib.Sc. from university Bangalore. He secured Gold Medal in M.Lib.Sc. and was awarded Ph.D by Bangalore University 1997.He was working at K.M.C Library and Information Centre, Manipal for 43 years in the various capacities and retired from service as Chief Librarian on 31-5-1999. After his retirement he worked as Consultant in MAHE consulting services, till 31-07-2000.Dr.Pai was the President of D.K. & Kodagu Library Association from 1993-2000.He was the President of Medical Library Association of India, New Delhi from 1997 till his Death. In 1996 he organized Karnataka State Library conference at Manipal in a grand scale. He presented several professional papers at National and International Conferences. He visited Lomalinda, USA and UK in 1990 on Professional training Programme. During his Tenure, KMC Library has developed into the finest medical Library in India with modern features such as MEDLINE on CDROM and informatics centre with INTERNET Facility.
